Background

Jesper Fabricius heads Accura's EU & Competition Team. He advises a number of Danish and international clients on all matters relating to merger control, anti-competitive agreements and business practices of companies with a dominant market position. His regular client base includes a number of industrial and commercial businesses, e.g. within the consumer goods industry, the media business, engineering, provision of services, logistics and mail operations.

Jesper is an expert on EU public procurement rules and public-private companies on which he also advises a number of businesses and public authorities. He was chairman of the Danish Association for Procurement from 2013-2017, and he sat on the committee on public procurement legislation which drafted the Danish public procurement act which entered into force on 1 January 2016. He is now a member of the reference group set up by the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority (DCCA) to discuss the development and the DCCA's efforts within public procurement.

Jesper also advises on intellectual property law, marketing law, business transfers and general commercial law.

Jesper joined Accura as a partner in 2005. Before that, he was a partner at Lett Law Firm from 2000-2005. From 1991-2000, he worked for Bech-Bruun & Trolle (now Bech-Bruun), first as an assistant attorney and later as an attorney. He began his career as an assistant attorney with Kierkegaard & Malby Law Firm (now Gorrissen Federspiel) from 1989-1991.

He graduated in law from the University of Copenhagen in 1989 and subsequently received a master's degree in European Community Law from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium. He was admitted to the Danish bar in 1992 and to practise law before the Danish High Courts in 1995.

Teaching and publications

Jesper is the author of several books on public procurement law, including most recently "Offentlige indkøb i praksis" (Public procurement in practice), Karnov Group, 4th edition, 2017. Furthermore, he is the editor of the "Offentlige indkøb" website (Public Procurement), Karnov Group, and also writes Karnov Group's newsletter on public procurement law.

Jesper is the co-author of the chapter on the Danish rules concerning merger control in The International Comparative Legal Guide to: Merger Control 2018 published by Global Legal Group Ltd. in London. Go to article.

For ten years until 2004, Jesper headed the compulsory bar exam courses in intellectual property law under the General Council of the Danish Bar and Law Society. Before that, he has also taught at the University of Copenhagen and Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and he is the co-author or author of several books and articles on intellectual property law, EU law and company law.
